It is the home to many of the hill-tribe peoples of Thailand, the most famous of which are long-necked women of the Karen. In the surrounding areas are a number of hot springs, mountain caves and stunningly beautiful waterfalls to visit. Thailand's second largest city, is pleasantly located on the banks of the Ping River. It's fertile plain at an average elevation of 330 m.above sea level. The plain is partially surrounded by forested mountains and the west is dominated by Doi Suthep Mountain which rises over 1,100m. This city has unique character and beautiful scenery, ancient temples, tradition customs, handicraft and friendly people.
